Have a Winey Diney Christmas

Here’s a little ditty I wrote as an homage to Burl Ives, the great snowman from the holiday classic, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. It’s a parody of the Johnny Marks standard, Have a Holly Jolly Christmas, sung by Burl Ives in Rudolph as well as on a LP of the same title.

Press play and sing along!

Winey Diney Christmas

Have a winey diney Christmas
keep your champagne very near
After bird and Cabernet
you can have a glass of kir

Have a winey diney Christmas
and when you sit down to eat
drink Merlot with potato
and Pinot with the meat

Oh, oh, the good Bordeaux, perfect with the ham
Pour some crisp Riesling to drink with candied yam

Have a winey diney Christmas
Keep dessert from tasting dry
Port with cake, Muscat with tarts
A Sauterne for your pie

Have a winey diney Christmas
Its the best time for a beer
Give someone a brew you like
And drink it without fear

Have a winey diney Christmas
If you drank too much to hear
It’s so fine to have a winey diney Christmas this year!

Thanks to Customdrumloops at Fivver.com for singing and recording this tune.

Happy holidays to all my wine-soaked readers. Cheers to you all!
